IT/Data Analytics Intern

Overview

Sportsman’s Warehouse is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT/Data Analytics Intern to join our team for Summer 2025 from June 2nd through July 25th. This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to work with data analysis, business intelligence, and IT infrastructure in a dynamic retail environment. Interns will collaborate with IT and analytics professionals on key projects and will have the unique opportunity to gain exposure to the outdoor industry, network with professionals in the field, and develop insights into the technology and analytics driving a leading retail sporting goods company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Data Analytics & Business Intelligence:

  • Assist in collecting and analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and insights for the merchandising or marketing teams.
  • Support the development and maintenance of analytics tools and processes.
  • Participate in the verification and maintenance of data integrity.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making.

IT Support & Systems Administration:

  • Utilize IT tools to assist in data storage, security, and reporting.
  • Work with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI and Snowflake.
  • Support IT infrastructure by ensuring data flows are efficient and reliable.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of data analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred:

  • Experience with SQL, Python, Snowflake, or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and business intelligence tools.
  • Previous experience with IT or analytics projects is a plus.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Office-based position, located at our West Jordan, UT headquarters (on-site only).
  • May require occasional lifting of IT equipment (up to 25 lbs).
  • Primarily sedentary role with some walking and standing as needed.
