Engineer Intern

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

We are seeking a motivated Manufacturing and Quality Engineer Intern to join our dynamic Engineering team. The intern will work closely with our experienced Engineering team to improve manufacturing processes, enhance product quality, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our production systems. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience and professional development in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Research and develop tools, processes, machines and equipment to integrate the facilities and systems for producing quality products with the optimum expenditure of capital.
  • Ensure products meet specifications, and conduct process capability studies before production release
  • Assess cycle time and analyze downtime and existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and enhance operational efficiency 
  • Supports cost savings by analyzing scrap and find solutions to reduce waste. 
  • Contribute to machinery, safety, ergonomics and tooling improvements through participation in continuous improvement activities 
  • Participates in cross functional meetings (i.e. layouts, APQP activities, continuous improvement opportunities etc.)
  • Supports and participates in EHS objectives

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERINCE:

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required. 
  • Familiarity with core engineering principles such as dynamics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, system design, HVAC, machine design, and manufacturing design 
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Power Point, Excel, Word. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

N/A

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • Office Work Environment 
  • Plant work environment with fluctuations in temperature (hotter in the summer, cooler in the winter). Exposure to certain noise levels and bright lights.
  • Required to wear company-issued personal protective equipment.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Sitting and or Standing/Walking for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, reaching with arms forward/above the shoulders.
  • Ability to stay focused for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify problems.
