WORK SCHEDULE:
School Year: A minimum of 15 hours per week with the opportunity to work up to 30 hours per week.
Summer: Work schedule may be outside of normal business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) in order to accommodate traffic studies during the summer months and address traffic peak hours or night time studies, etc.
PAY RATE:
$16.00/hr - $19.00/hr per hour
PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE:
None is required.
EDUCATION:
Applicant must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering degree program is required.
SPECIAL SKILLS & TRAINING:
Good communication skills. Able to multi-task and work in outside environment in all weather conditions. Knowledge of Word & Excel and other computer programs. Must be able to use math skills for engineering calculations and measurements; able to multi-task.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and collect data for the annual traffic count program. Assist with transportation studies, crash analysis, layout of signs and pavement markings, road condition surveys, preparation of grant applications, work with various engineering software applications, construction estimating and possibly construction inspection.
