Field & Program Operations, Emerging Talent Intern

Position Title:     Field & Program Operations, Emerging Talent Intern

Hourly Rate      $19.00 (Undergraduate), $21.00 (Graduate), $22.00 (Post-Graduate)

 Overview of Department:

NYCT Operations Training provides numerous training programs (approximately 350 individual courses) focusing on safety, security, induction of new hires and promotions, conventional and new equipment, title-specific knowledge, and skill refreshers for Department of Subways employees. Operations Training is also the department that organized and developed the Transit Electrical Apprenticeship Program. The interns will work closely with various managers and superintendents both in office and at various Transit sites to get a better understanding of Subways and streamline processes. 

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain digital and physical records.
  • Assist in tracking project timelines and deliverables.
  • Develop content for MTA newsletter and MTA Today.
  • Preparing agendas and taking minutes during meetings.
  • Organize outreach events and materials for Transit Electrical Apprentice program.
  • Support Operations Training in reviewing and analyzing employee performance.
  • Support staff in developing and managing data across various databases.
  • Support staff in creating process and procedures to streamline operations.

Projects:

  • Create electronic sign-in sheet with application.
  • Develop website with Live chat feature.
  • Create virtual modules based on classroom training.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
  • The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.
  • The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
  • Experience creating websites or applications a plus.

Required Education:

  • Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA or graduate program with at least a 2.8 GPA.
  • Major(s) Preferred: Business Management, IT and Related Fields, Labor Relations, HR and Related, Transportation Management, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
