Position Title: Safety and Emergency Response, Emerging Talent Intern
Hourly Rate: $19.00 (Undergraduate), $21.00 (Graduate), $22.00 (Post-Graduate)
Overview of Department:
Technology consultants within Operations Training is a division of the Department of Subways and supporting other areas of New York City Transit. The team interfaces with other MTA agencies and external vendors to ensure the development and delivery of high impact training solutions. The intern will empower the unit to deliver training to its employees that will keep its patrons safe in emergency situations.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting developing course training documentation.
- Analyzing annual activity reports to find common trends which will allow the unit to adjust accordingly with scheduling.
- Track and procure equipment and training material monthly.
- Communication with various depts to determine quarterly schedule expectations.
- Create class shells.
- Enroll employees in classes and ensuring that their status is accurate.
- Administrative tasks such as filing, answering emails and phones, coordinating meetings.
Projects:
- Assist in creating training modules that comply with MTA policy and System Safety
- Provide support by analyzing data
- Designing a seamless process to assist the unit in keeping employee course status up to date and accurate.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
- The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.
- The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
- Understanding of basic web and database design and best practices.
- Skills in using Adobe software including Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator.
Required Education:
- Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA or graduate program with at least a 2.8 GPA.
- Major(s) Preferred: Computer technology, Computer Graphic Design, Public Administration HR and Related, Transportation Management, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
