JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Engineering-Body, intern will engage in a variety of work experiences applying their theoretical knowledge to real world business challenges. This role will typically support one or more experienced engineers completing moderately complex tasks in a production and/or production design engineering environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support team mates on current and future engineering projects as assigned
- Assist/lead troubleshooting production challenges/improvement opportunities with minimal supervision
- Support Design Engineers with CAD & drawing accuracy and manufacturability
- Complete basic engineering tasks related to product design, analysis, testing, integration and systems engineering
- Under the supervision of an experienced engineer, perform analysis on existing products; assist in the design and development of future products; perform analysis on both completed and future launches; and conduct quality assurance on system safety, launch and production operations
- Engage in projects and/or studies that promote continuous improvement and operational efficiency
- Showcase learnings obtained during the internship program by presenting outcomes of key projects to members of the Engineering leadership team and/or members of Blue Bird’s Executive Leadership Team
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR SUCCESS
- Familiarity with CAD software (3DX preferred)
- Able to work full-time (40 hours/week) for a 15-week period beginning May 19, 2025 – September 5, 2025
BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Junior, Senior or Graduate level student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
- At least 18 years of age prior to the start of the internship assignment

- CATIA experience
