### Position Overview
This is a **100% remote, 100% flexible internship position** supporting our STEAM initiatives. The STEAM Innovation Intern will help develop interdisciplinary approaches that connect purpose discovery with STEAM disciplines, particularly for neurodivergent learners. Interns can receive academic credit, volunteer, or potentially earn a stipend based on contribution level.

### Key Responsibilities

**STEAM Curriculum Support**
- Assist in developing science and mathematics teaching strategies that connect to personal purpose and real-world applications
- Help create technology-based learning tools that accommodate diverse learning styles
- Support engineering-focused project design that emphasizes creative problem-solving
- Contribute to arts integration strategies that enhance comprehension of complex concepts
- Aid in developing cross-disciplinary STEAM activities for neurodivergent students

**Technology & Digital Innovation**
- Support the development of adaptive technologies for learners with diverse needs
- Help create digital visualization tools that make abstract STEAM concepts accessible
- Assist with coding and computer science curriculum that builds on autistic students' strengths
- Contribute to data collection and analysis for measuring program effectiveness
- Support the implementation of virtual reality and augmented reality learning experiences

**Creative Integration**
- Help design artistic approaches to understanding scientific and mathematical concepts
- Support the creation of multimedia resources that engage visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners
- Assist with developing creative expression outlets that complement technical learning
- Contribute to storytelling strategies that frame STEAM concepts within meaningful narratives
- Help document the intersection of creativity and analytical thinking in purpose discovery

### Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, Education, or related field
- Interest in interdisciplinary approaches to education and purpose discovery
- Familiarity with digital tools and technologies used in education
- Passion for making STEAM disciplines accessible to diverse learners
- Understanding of how creative arts enhance learning in technical subjects
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong digital communication skills
- Commitment to inclusive educational approaches

**Three Ways to Participate:**

All team members have the opportunity to progress towards a paid stipend as their ideas are refined and developed including the option to progress to the level of independent contactor for Voice Up sponsored for a period of 6 months to 12 months paid an hourly rate of $20 to $30 for a maximum of 15 hours per week per academic semester.

1. **Volunteer Track:** Contribute your talents while building valuable leadership experience and expanding your network. Perfect for those seeking to make an impact alongside other commitments.

2. **Academic Credit:** Earn credit at your institution while leading real-world change. We'll work with your school's specific requirements to ensure the experience meets academic guidelines.

3. **Paid Fellowship:** Selected candidates with strong social impact project proposals may receive stipends of $500-$750 monthly. These opportunities are secured case-by-case through partnerships between Voice Up and potential sponsors. Requires commitment to a 3-4 month specific project.
