Human Resource Intern
MAG is a leading manufacturing technology group for machining tasks in milling and turning for turnkey manufacturing systems and machines with customer-specific application technology.
MAG Automotive is seeking a Human Resource Intern with growth potential to join our HR team and support our growing organization. This role is ideal for someone who is an independent self- starter. We are looking for an individual who is creative, driven, and has a strong inclination for getting things done. Strong attention to detail is critical for success in this role. This position provides support to the HR team with a variety of tasks to support all candidates and employees during every phase of their employment, including recruitment, onboarding, terminations, etc. and assisting with ensuring that all have a positive experience.
Human Resources Intern
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- This individual will be responsible for data entry, management, and audit for sensitive information related to our employees
- Responsible for working with new hires in the pre-boarding and onboarding process to make sure all information is accurate and company is compliant with employment laws
- Inputs, maintains, audits, extracts, manipulates, and analyzes confidential HR data from HRIS System - ADP Workforce Now
- Initiates changes to the ADP Workforce Now HR Information System (HRIS) associated with various personnel events such as job or organization changes and salary actions
Runs periodic data audits of MAG Automotive data to ensure data consistency and accuracy
Assists supervisors with accurate and timely completion of employee skill assessments and performance reviews
Tracks evaluation progress and provides reminders and assistance completing documents
Support HR team with annual performance management & pay planning processes
- Coordinates in-person New Hire Orientation sessions
Completes employment eligibility documentation, including I-9's in a timely manner
- Handle employment-related inquiries from employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate HR contact

Handles invoicing for HR team -
Supports Engagement Committee initiatives - Learn Payroll and Benefit process to become proficient as a back-up in both areas.
- Special Projects: deliver HR initiatives through completion and create reporting to track progress
Preferred Experience:
Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and standards such as ADA, FMLA, EEO, etc.
Requires computer proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate depending on traffic in the office. The noise volume can be loud when assisting employees in the shop or posting.
