What you’ll do: A finance intern will assist in recording transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness. They will support the preparation of financial reports and other reporting, providing valuable insights for decision-making. The intern may perform financial analysis, including variance and trend analysis, to assess performance and identify improvement areas. Additionally, the intern will collaborate with various teams to support organizational needs.
Duties / Responsibilities of this position:
- Financial Data Entry: Assist in recording transactions and maintaining records in our database, financial software or spreadsheets.
- Reporting: Support the preparation of financial reports, statements, and presentations.
- Financial Analysis: Perform variance analysis, trend analysis, and ratio analysis.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Help with budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering data and/or updating models.
- Ad-hoc Projects: Support finance team members in special assignments and process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate in an FP&A capacity with other departments to assist with organizational needs.
- Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial information, adhering to company policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Database Maintenance: Assist in updating and maintaining databases, spreadsheets, and reports, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Presentation: Prepare and present findings to management at the end of the internship.
Job Requirements:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED; currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
- Strong academic background
- Proactive approach to learning and taking on new challenges
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Interpersonal skills, communication skills, and computer skills
- Ability to operate office equipment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
