Quality Intern

Duties:

  • Support in conducting product or process inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Gather, input, and analyze quality-related data (e.g., defect rates, test results, audit findings) to identify trends or areas for improvement.
  • Help maintain and organize quality documentation such as SOPs, inspection records, and non-conformance reports.
  • Participate in investigations of quality issues to determine root causes and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Assist with planning, executing, or following up on internal quality audits under the supervision of a Quality Engineer or Manager.
  • Help review and update SOPs and work instructions to reflect current practices and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean or Six Sigma efforts aimed at improving efficiency and reducing waste.
  • Assist in monitoring supplier performance and managing supplier quality documentation or communications.
  • Help prepare training materials or conduct quality-related training sessions for staff under guidance.
  • Work with production, engineering, and other departments to support quality objectives and resolve issues.

 

Education:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as:
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Manufacturing Engineering
    • Quality Assurance / Quality Management
    • or other STEM-related disciplines

Skills and Competencies:

  • Attention to detail – essential for inspections, documentation, and data analysis
  • Analytical skills – ability to collect, interpret, and report on quality data
  • Basic understanding of quality principles – e.g., ISO standards, Six Sigma, or GMP (depending on industry)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office – especially Excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal, for reporting and cross-departmental collaboration
  • Organizational skills – ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records
