### Position Summary
As a Special Events Coordinator Intern at VoiceUp, you will work directly with the founder to help plan, organize, and execute on-site activities, workshops, and events focused on connecting people to purpose. Additionally, you will play a key role in overseeing the quarterly publication of "Make The Difference," a global publication for the people that illuminates purpose-driven stories across communities worldwide. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in both event coordination and publication management with a purpose-driven organization that is currently scaling its operations.

### Key Responsibilities
#### Event Coordination
- Collaborate directly with the founder on event planning and implementation
- Coordinate with diverse teams from different companies, organizations, and cultures
- Manage event logistics including venue selection, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Ensure seamless implementation of all VoiceUp-sponsored events
- Support the annual Global Stories of Purpose Conference

#### Publication Management
- Oversee the quarterly publication process for "Make The Difference"
- Coordinate with contributors, editors, and designers to meet publication deadlines
- Help curate content that aligns with the publication's sections: The Big Give, That First Step, Purpose, Joy, Tree of Life, From the Root, For the Route, My Health, and With You
- Assist in reviewing submissions and communicating with potential contributors
- Support the distribution and promotion of each quarterly issue

- Proficiency with event planning tools and publication software

The publication features carefully curated personal narratives, expert insights, and actionable wisdom that bridge divides between cultures, generations, and perspectives—revealing the common threads of purpose that unite humanity across all boundaries.

### Compensation Options
1. **Volunteer Track:** Contribute your talents while building valuable leadership experience and expanding your network. Perfect for those seeking to make an impact alongside other commitments.

2. **Academic Credit:** Earn credit at your institution while leading real-world change. We'll work with your school's specific requirements to ensure the experience meets academic guidelines.

3. **Paid Fellowship:** Selected candidates with strong social impact project proposals may receive stipends of $500-$750 monthly. These opportunities are secured case-by-case through partnerships between Voice Up and potential sponsors. Requires commitment to a 3-4 month specific project.

All participants have the opportunity to progress toward a paid stipend as their ideas are refined and developed, including the option to advance to independent contractor status for Voice Up sponsored projects for 6-12 months at an hourly rate of $20-$30 for a maximum of 15 hours per week per academic semester.
