Job Summary: 

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our HR department focusing on updating our Health, Safety & Environmental program to become compliant with MIOSHA/OSHA/Company standards. The intern will work with the HSE Committee and test labs to understand and document their HSE needs. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for students interested in gaining practical experience in HSE programs within the automotive industry.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Update and/or create HSE policies.
  • Create HSE training content.
  • Develop tracking matrix for HSE policy review, training, requirements, etc.
  • Contribute to project planning activities, including creating project schedules, monitoring milestones, and tracking progress.
  • Participate in HSE meetings, providing updates on assigned tasks and assisting in problem-solving efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, lab technicians, facilities, and engineers.

 

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Be in the pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Health, Safety & Environmental, or related field and completed first year of coursework.
  • Understanding of MIOSHA & EPA regulations.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Experience coordinating and facilitating several small or one major project.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Very good organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work independently while provided proper direction. 
  • Experience with PCs and application software, such as MS Office tools
