Library Makerspace Mentor
Library Makerspace Mentors serve at the OU Libraries' Makerspace which is
located in room 234 of the second floor of Kresge Library. Mentors will combine a
high level of customer service skills with an intermediate to advanced knowledge of
computer software and hardware to assist library patrons (OU students, OU faculty, and staff) in using a variety of computer software, software services and hardware devices.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist library patrons (student, faculty, staff) with a variety of computer software applications such as Slicers, Blender, Cricut Design Space, Adobe Creative Cloud and others.
2. Guide patrons in the use of tools, machines, and materials.
3. Assist patrons with workshops and other Makerspace events.
4. Adhere to library and Makerspace policies and procedures.
5. Explain policies and procedures to patrons.
6. Assist in maintaining the appearance of the Makerspace.
7. Report problems to the coordinator.
8. Must be customer oriented, pleasant, courteous and approachable.
9. Must work well as part of a team.
10. Other duties as assigned.
