I loved the environment of the company and the people. Everyone was so friendly and was willing to help you. I got valuable experience by working on audit engagements and traveling to clients.
What I wish was different
I wish I was able to be on more clients in a variety of industries (healthcare, not-for-profit, etc.)
Advice
Ask a lot of questions because it'll help you learn more and will help you make sense of the work you're doing and see the value behind it

Management and Information Technology Consulting Intern
May - August 2017 • Portland, ME
What I liked
I was able to jump right into the day to day machinations of my group and make contributions to client work that would be included in the final deliverable. I think BerryDunn focused on my strengths and interests and assigned me to projects that most aligned with them. Additionally, Portland is a great city to work in with plenty to offer in terms of attractions, food, and natural beauty. The travel was great, too!
What I wish was different
I wish there was more central programming for the interns to get to know each other more. I think this was the trade off with being able to put in meaningful client work.
Advice
Do not be afraid to express your interests when it comes to work. Your colleagues want you to be working on projects that you find interesting because you'll naturally produce better work. With consulting, make sure to strike the balance between a professional and casual relationship. The travel leads to fun experiences with your coworkers, but remember to switch on "professional mode" when working.
