What I liked
I loved getting to work on my own project. I had the freedom to explore the project I was working on, but also had several resources I could use to help me solve the challenges I was faced with. I also loved being in a manufacturing environment. The company I worked for has a rich history and being able to see processes used in for several decades being used with new technology was very interesting. See the old with the new was really cool for me.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more prior knowledge of the technology I was working with. The biggest challenge I faced was understanding things I was seeing for the first time as well as people who had been in industry fro over twenty years. Being in charge of my own project put a lot of pressure on me to understand all ascpects of the project in great detail.
Advice
The best advice I could give is having a great attitude. Being positive and keeping my eyes on the end result helped me get through my internship .

What I liked
My supervisor was fantastic, extremely approachable, and excited to teach me about Internal Corporate Communications. As a whole, Carpenter Technology was a very positive work environment with a strong internship program and endless opportunities to learn. It is clear that everyone cares about the safety and well-being of each other, and not only during work hours. As an intern, I was tasked with leading multiple projects. Knowing that my work mattered and had an effect on the company made me feel more confident in myself as a professional .
What I wish was different
My internship was remote, so I think working in-person would have made making connections with other interns and departments easier.
Advice
Communicate! Your supervisors want you to have a good experience and get the most out of what they can teach you. Similarly, they have a lot to teach you, so be open and willing to learn.
