Marketing Intern

What I liked

I really enjoyed getting to work for a company that is created and ran by the students. While there is a lot of support from the admin team, the interns have the power with creative control for most facets of the company. There is a lot of opportunity for career growth, network connections and mentorship. I had the privilege of working alongside the Marketing Director of Salesforce and Twitter's Social Impact Team to run a campaign using twitter Q & As.

What I wish was different

I wish there had been a bit more structure within the internship program. While I was able to grow in my personal business skills, I was unable to truly build on my marketing background as there was change in management during the middle of my internship.

Advice

If you have the opportunity to talk to someone with more experience then you in a similar job field, use their wisdom to your advantage. Connect with that person on LinkedIn and foster a relationship. Build your network of connections.

I wish that we were given more agency, I noticed that people that often had little knowledge of video production had high and bordering on unrealistic expectations while not listening to people who were apart of the team
