So this summer was dedicated to me purchasing a DLSR camera to pursue my dreams and help further my career as a photographer/videographer. Working at two Dollar Generals in one day sometimes, I worked nearly everyday this summer to save up for a camera that was priced at $700. One piece of advice I would share about my experience is that if you have a goal, do whatever it takes to reach it. When you really love something or have a passion to do it, nothing is impossible to reach. It literally took me 2 months to save enough money to buy the camera on top of helping out my family around the same. It seemed like forever but I didn’t give up. Just keep your head high & reach for what you want !

Working in retail isn't easy since you have to be able to assist customers who can be hostile. Just remember to stay calm and have a solution prepared

I wish i had other options other than being a cashier, i had no other choice this summer. All other places, all 20 or some places in Brooklyn would not hire me because i was in school.
Advice
Its a good job for a temporary amount of time, and they are usually really nice, but there isn't much to be said since its just a retail position.

The corporation sucks. They are terrible. Very little pay with harsh work. They are stingy with hours and did not care about us.
Advice
Don't work there. Work at a clothing store. much more relaxed and happier people.
