I loved that the level of trust that I had as an intern. They listened to the type of experiences I wanted to gain from my internship and they did their best to fulfill them. I had actual real projects and responsibilities. And the staff were so helpful in helping me to develop professionally.
What I wish was different
The only thing I wish had been different was more time! Because I was attending Hope in Holland, I couldn't drive to Grand Rapids everyday. However my class schedule was only Tuesday and Thursday, so I was able to go three days out of the week.
Advice
Communicate. If I hadn't had the talk I did with my supervisor about wanting more serious work, I don't think I would have felt as accomplished come the end of my internship. They want you to succeed and will help you in anyway they can but only if they know how to do so!
