Quantum Ion Trapping Intern
June - August 2022 • Rome, NY
What I liked
Everybody there was really helpful with anything that you needed assistance with. It also gave me opportunities to try out many different aspects of engineering with some mechanical design, circuitry, programming, and more.
What I wish was different
The intern hiring department does a poor job of informing people whether they have been hired or not. From not getting a letter of acceptance until after the posted starting date or not getting informed about being hired at all, it is something that you have to be proactive with.
Advice
This internship experience also comes with a few career and personal development "lunch-and-learns" that can be very useful with information ranging from how to build your credit score to what your personality strengths are.
