I wish that there were more projects that involved other members from the internship class.
Advice
You are expected to ask questions to create an understanding of the bank and the industry. Do not ignore the opportunity to learn from senior level people.

What I liked
The culture at MUFG was great, I appreciated becoming a part of the team and learning the ins and outs of the business.
What I wish was different
I didn't like my role as much as an Auditor. The work was not as compelling to me as I was hoping it would be so in hindsight I wish I could have found a role I truly enjoyed.
Advice
I may not have liked my role but there was a lot to learn regardless. If you are not thrilled with your job don't brush off any lessons because you never know what skills are applicable at future opportunities.

What I liked
MUFG provided a great professional internship experience. The flat structure made senior managers very open to teaching me skills and telling me about their roles at the bank. I got real responsibilities and worked closely with employees of all rank on my desk. We also got the opportunity to split into teams and deliver a mock client pitch to a panel of managing directors.
What I wish was different
Advice
Do your share of networking. MUFG is very open to interns shadowing employees from other groups than the one you're assigned to, so definitely make the most of it and learn as much about the other positions as possible. You never know, you could possibly find another group you love more than the one you worked in during the summer.

Sales and Trading Summer Analyst

What I liked
The connection to Villanova that MUFG has is unmatched. There are so many alumni working at the bank willing and able to meet with you and help you in your time in the internship. The internship taught me so much and really helped me launch my career. For sales and trading, MUFG participates in a rotational program so interns get to see various parts of the trading floor which was an incredible opportunity to see where you fit best.
What I wish was different
For sales and trading, the hours are very early in comparison to banking hours, so just being aware that unless you live very close to the city, you would likely want to have a place to live in Manhattan for the summer.
Advice
Use the opportunity to make connections! This bank has such a flat leadership structure that I was able to get lunch with the CEO throughout my time, and any person I emailed always made time to sit down with me and tell me about their experience. In an industry so focused on building relationships, it is unique to have that level of access to senior executives in an intern role, especially with such a large alumni base from Villanova.

What I liked
I was able to get involved and work on large projects for my department. Unlike many other internships where you are given mundane office work, MUFG allowed me to use my knowledge from the classroom to actual work situations.
What I wish was different
The one thing that I wish was different was the lack of efficient communication with teams that are not centrally located within the office. In order to get a project started it required many meetings and approvals which was time that could have been spent working on the project.
Advice
Try to get involved in as many opportunities that you can while you are there, they want you to try and the culture is accepting and has the tools to help you succeed.

What I liked
It was my first experience in a professional setting and my manager made my position very enjoyable. I learned very much about sales and the variety of financial products that exists in the banking industry.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more opportunities for a raise. I also wish that the hours were more flexible.
Advice
Be extremely attentive to detail. A minor mistake could be very dangerous! Be diligent with getting things done correctly the first time around.

I enjoyed learning about the audit practice in the banking industry. It was a great way to grow individually and receive a lot of mentorship from professionals who have been in the industry.

Advice
I would recommend whoever interns here, to have an open mind and be prepared to contribute to the audit practice. The audit organization is growing and there is a lot of opportunity to work on audits that you want to learn more about.
