Projects/Process Engineering COOP
May - August 2019 • Hamilton, OH
What I liked
Lots of variety and a fast pace that ensure busy days. Lot's of new experiences and hands on experience. A strong mix of both desk work and hands on working with machines and employees.
What I wish was different
Not much of my work was applicable to Electrical Engineering, and there was very little guidance. My supervisor had a lot of hats in the company and was rarely available for feedback or collaboration on the more important tasks.
Advice
Be prepared to handle a level of urgency that to an extent is false. Due to the amount of money involved in certain decisions, plans can materialize and change out of nowhere. Especially when travelling is needed.

Design Engineer Intern
June - August 2019 • Auburn Hills, MI
What I liked
I liked how they trusted the interns to put in our time in and time out. They gave interns the task of running parts to suppliers and manufacturers, and doing actual engineering spreadsheets for use with the suppliers, manufacturers and OEMs.
What I wish was different
I wish it had been a little more strict in what was given to the interns, I felt as though I was bothering the engineers for more work after I finished what I had been working on. Felt like a coffee runner some days. They didn't have my laptop set up by the time I planned to start and I wasn't given access to all of the programs I needed to be given more work.
Advice
Ask for work, don't fall asleep at your desk, work hard, continue to exceed expectations, talk to the other engineers and interns for help, and make friends with your coworkers.
