What I liked

I was able to learn so much. I was able to grow tremendously within 10 weeks as well as learn a lot more about the business and how Amazon runs. My building was also filled with super amazing and smart individuals! I had an awesome mentor that actually was a UC Davis alumni that was in the same major as me.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more guidance through my manager but I was able to struggle and learn more through it.

Advice

Every experience is how you make of it. I definitely recommend students to try their best and push their-selves out of their comfort zone in order to learn and grow.

It was fun and I made a lot of friends. Hard work sometimes, but definitely worth it for the money.

Only part time was available for me. Also had to jump through a lot of hoops with other management.

Advice

If you're in college, don't do this as anything more than a summer job. They aren't flexible with your school schedule at all.

I had a great support system between my manager and mentor that allowed me to thrive. My work was very challenging and I was forced learn a lot on the fly. Lots of great intern events as well

I wish Operations Interns were treated on the same level as Corporate interns did. There was a clear distinction and that made the experience a little less enjoyable.

Advice

Embrace the leadership principles because you will see it every day you’re there! Don’t be afraid to THINK BIG and DEEP DIVE everything as well as LEARN AND BE CURIOUS!

Freedom to pickup shifts as I was available. Merch rewards and ability to pickup shifts 2 weeks in advance if over 90 hrs were worked a month

Advice

Work hard. Don't procrastinate, and enjoy the experience while it lasts. If you're not from the city, take some time to explore. Especially if it's an internship during the summer months.

I wish the company was more organized in their internship process and offer process.

Advice

Amazon is great as a big tech company, but I’d much prefer other companies that offer more perks (less to worry about), are more personable and more organized. They didn’t confirm my internship location until 1.5 weeks before starting, and they didn’t respond to any emails or requests to call prior to starting either.
