I loved my internship with PwC. The culture of the firm had to be my favorite part. Everyone I met was professional and driven. It was a wonderful work environment and everyday I felt like everyone was working hard to reach their personal and firm goals. I also felt like I was learning the entire time of my internship. Everyday I worked with and learned from PwC people of every level and clients that came from some of the largest and most successful companies out there. The work was never boring and I always felt energetic about coming to work.
What I wish was different
There's really nothing I can complain about my time at PwC. I found exactly what I was looking for at PwC. But if you're not ready to work full force and put in the hours then I could see how some people may burn out or be discouraged by the amount of work they are doing. The best part about the work you do at PwC is they will compensate you extremely well, and your hard work will be recognized by those around you. PwC puts their people first and I felt taken care of the entire time.
Advice
I would advise to be honest with yourself and honest with the firm and recruiters. They are looking for a good fit culturally as much as if you are qualified to do the work. Be confident in who you are and express yourself and interests honestly. Examine the culture and yourself and know that you are testing out the firm as much as they are testing you out too.

What I liked
Overall the internship was great. I liked how cooperative the PwC employees were. They were really helpful. The training was amazing. I learned a lot about different areas in audits and tax. I got to shadow auditors and tax professionals in their day-to-day jobs.
What I wish was different
I wish the amount of work I had to do was more structured. Sometimes I’m buried in work, other times I don’t have anything to do.

What I liked
PwC really welcomed us into the community and planned many events for us outside of work hours to get to know one another and the culture of PwC. I also really like the other PwC employees I was working with. In short, the community was my favorite part.
What I wish was different
If I could change one thing about my internship, I wish I had been a bit busier. I wish I had spent less time waiting for work. However, when I was doing work it felt important and it taught me a lot.
Advice
I would advise a future intern to remember your experience is unique and not going to be exactly the same as any other intern.

Global Mobility Service Tax Intern
June - August 2017 • San Francisco, CA
What I liked
The team is under the Tax line of service. With a smaller size of the team, it would be easier to communicate with other colleagues and they are really helpful. At PwC, they don't expect you to know everything at the beginning and they are willing to help you out even though they are quite busy working. Managers and directors are approachable, but the partner sometimes need to work at the San Jose office thus wouldn't show up.
What I wish was different
Try to ask for more works, especially something related to tax returns and tax calculations.
Advice
Be open and willing to learn, try to ask for more works if you can. The colleagues are helpful and nice.

Core Forensics Intern
June - August 2017 • Chicago, IL
What I liked
The work, the people, the company culture
What I wish was different
I wished that we had a larger investigation to work on over the summer, but we had many medium-sized projects that showed me the wide variety of work forensics does.
Advice
Network, network, network. You really don't want to do it, but it was biggest factor in how I got my internship and return offer.

Global Intelligence Intern
June - August 2017 • Arlington County, VA
What I liked
Work was interesting - conducting online research in different languages. Intern activities/events coordinated by the greater firm were well done.
What I wish was different
Specific to Global Intelligence Sector: Complete lack of feedback or guidance. Internship was not well structured or planned out. Management did not seem interested or invested in the interns from the very start.
Advice
Always seek feedback, as it will not automatically be given to you. This office has a mediocre work environment where employees are expected to feign positivity despite various adverse circumstances.

Assurance intern
June - August 2017 • Pittsburgh, PA
What I liked
I liked that I was able to work on two different teams during my internship. I was able to see a manufacturing company as well as a financial services company so that I could get a feel for what type of clients I would like to audit. While working on these different clients during my internship I was able to meet two different teams, one relatively small and the other was around 20 people. This helped me to determine whether or not I would like to work on a smaller or larger team. It was overall really beneficial to have this experience during my internship.
What I wish was different
I wish the internship was longer so that there were more weeks on each client. There was only a two week period that we were able to spend on each client, and I would have liked if it were a little longer.
Advice
Ask as many questions as you can and stay engaged during the entire internship process. Network as much as you possibly can with the associates on your teams because those are people you may be working with in the future if you get a job offer from this internship.

Tax intern
January - March 2017 • Chicago, IL
What I liked
The culture the firm provides and all the resources they have for interns and new hires.
What I wish was different
Interning at a public firm in certain tax groups is different than others. I wish I had prior knowledge of what each tax line was like so that I could have chosen accordingly before I started interning.
Advice
Be proactive! Make sure you try to introduce yourself to everyone you can and make relationships with your peers and seniors.

Core Assurance Intern
June - August 2017 • Los Angeles, CA
What I liked
The people were amazing, the work was challenging and rewarding, and I learned a lot. Going to Disneyworld at the end of the internship to celebrate our full-time offers was an amazing experience as well.
What I wish was different
I had a week where I was unassigned, and I wish I had had the opportunity to do more audit work during that week. This is common for audit internships though.
Advice
Take notes when your engagement team gives you instructions. A lot of the time you'll have a variety of tasks assigned for a period of time, many of which take several steps.

International Tax Services - Quantitative Solutions Intern
June - August 2017 • Detroit, MI
What I liked
I liked that I was thrown right into real projects and client work and was able to see what my role as a full-time employee would be. I loved working with my team. PwC has a lot of great people.
What I wish was different
I mostly worked on one large client over the course of the internship and I would have liked to get a little bit more diverse experience. Depending on what department you work in and what time of year it is, the workload and clients vary, so it's a little different for everyone.
Advice
Try your best to apply yourself and use the internship as an opportunity to expand your network. If you have a hard time finding client work from your manager or team, go to your buddy or other people in your department and see if you can assist them on any client work.
